Steven’s ceramics are modern and functionally based wheel thrown forms. Riding the coat tails of a long pottery history he explores the push and pull of keeping traditional wheel throwing alive and current.

After graduating from bealart, Sheridan School of Craft and Design and NSCAD he worked as a full-time piece work thrower for four years. This experience evolved into a deep refinement of his personal throwing process. Living in Woodstock Ontario for the next 20 years, he taught and conducted many workshops and classes in the area covering throwing, kiln building, salt glazing and wood firing. In 2020, Steven moved to Meaford and is currently building a new studio and kiln. He looks forward to returning to a studio practice and sharing his skills and knowledge with the local community.
