Jan has a degree in interior design and currently works in her own firm specializing in health care facility design and project management. In her free time, she purses botanical watercolour painting. She has shown her work at several juried exhibits.

Recently, Jan has turned her attention to ceramic handbuilding. Most of her work has been done in Arizona at the Mesa Art Centre. With a recent move to Thornbury, she is now doing work in the Georgian Bay area. She has transferred some of her botanical background into detailed floral ceramic designs. Jan enjoys doing a variety of work, including intricate, whimsical pieces, utilizing colourful underglazes. She is also very interested in working with raku glazes.
