6 MORNING CLASSES – TUESDAYS, May 18 to June 22, 9:30 – 12:30.
This class takes you further than the one day Basic Beginner class and is designed to bring your skill set to an intermediate level of stained glass artistry. Learn the complete steps of how to score and break glass, use pattern, design and foil shears, all the steps through to patina and polish. In the first two courses you will create a two colour project from the following choices: picture frame, small panel, or sun catcher, each with fewer than 10 pieces per project. All glass, materials and hand tools are included in the above beginner piece.
In the next four classes you will apply the skill and techniques you have learned to your own personal project of your choosing. This may be a panel (not to exceed 18″ x 18” and 25-30 pieces max), 3D box, glass succulent, a small lampshade. The possibilities will be endless at this point. Glass for your personal project is not included (depending on project and size approx $15-$60), however, hand tools, and all other materials are included.
Please arrive with an idea of the two colours for your beginner piece and a design idea for your personal project.
Closed toe shoes, safety glasses, and a sense of humour are mandatory. You may bring your own safety glasses or they are available for purchase for $5 to $20 each. If you have an old pair of nicely fitting leather or heat resistant gloves, they will be useful, but not essential.
