In this two part class you will enjoy creating your own single colour three dimensional stained glass flower
2 TUESDAY EVENINGS, June 29 and July 7, 6-9
With a choice between a simple succulent or a slightly more challenging water lily, these can be mastered by anyone with basic beginner skills and up. In part one, we will jump right in to tracing the pattern, scoring and creating 18 beautiful petals. Then on to grind, foil, tin and prepare the petals for assembly. Part two will focus on initial assembly, cleaning, patina, polish, final assembly and finishing touches.
All glass, materials and hand tools are included for this project.
Prerequisite: Must be able to score and break glass successfully, and have a general concept of grinding, foiling, and soldering.
Closed toe shoes, safety glasses, and a sense of humour are mandatory. You may bring your own safety glasses or they are available for purchase for $5-$20 each. If you have an old pair of nicely fitting leather or heat resistant gloves, they will be useful for soldering those delicate petals.
