Sunday, March 21st and Sunday, March 28th, 1pm to 4pm.
This dynamic two part class will take you through the basics of slab construction, fold forming and surface decoration. These hand building techniques are a fun and rewarding way of creating complex forms out of clay. You will be given demonstrations in slump and hump forms, vessel construction, clay extrusion and the use of a slab roller. There will be time during each class to make a piece using one of the building techniques with the goal of finishing one piece per class. For those participants with open studio privileges you can glaze your pieces after they are fired all other work will be glazed in a clear.
