Felt Wrap around – Bookbinding with Kari Bronaugh

November 7 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The delicious thick wool felt cover of this book will warm your winter-chilled hands! A bevy of scrumptious colours of felt will be available!

Each student will make one book and finish the book with one of three types of wrap-around closures. The felt cover fairly itches for decorative touches!

If you want to include a pen in your book closure, bring your favourite writing or drawing pen along and we’ll include it in the cover! Pens should be no taller than 6 inches/15 cm.

Students will learn a traditional long stitch sewing pattern that can be used on all kinds of cover materials. And this sturdy felt cover can be re-used as it’s easy to fold up a new text block and re-sew the pages to the cover.

The pages will be made from 98lb/160 gsm acid free Mixed Media Canson Paper which works well for marker, pastel, pencil, acrylic, watercolour, charcoal, pen and ink.
