Bound to write – Bookbinding with Kari Bronaugh and Richard Yves-Sitoski
October 30 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm$200.00
Full day workshop with co-instructors Kari Bronaugh from Bochord Bookbinding and the Owen Sound Poet Laureate, Richard-Yves Sitoski.
Show off your sonnets. Visualize your verses. Hype your haiku. Portray your poems. Beget your ballads. Reveal your rhymes.
Join us for a fast-paced day of poetry writing and bookmaking to elevate your writing to a visual art. This workshop is a fun exploration of the book format and writing to a specific format. Each book structure presents a single poem in an interactive way that engages the reader.
We will start the day by making a crab-claw box to house your 5 mini book structures and then dive into writing & making. Over the course of the day, students will make a Flexagon, a Jacob’s Ladder Book, a 4-Rooms Book, a Banner Flag Book, and a Woven Page Accordion and fill them up with poems that they will write on the spot!
Students are encouraged to bring along existing short poems, themes they want to explore, creative prompts and their favourite pen to write with!
