3D Stained Glass Flower with Patti Di Florio
December 4 @ 9:30 am - 4:30 pm$140
WHEN: SATURDAY, December 4th, 9:30AM to 4:30PM
WHERE: The Georgian Bay Centre for the Arts, 938 2nd Avenue East, Owen Sound, ON
Students have the choice to make a simple succulent or a slightly more challenging stylized lotus flower. We will jump right into tracing the pattern, scoring, and creating eighteen beautiful petals. Then we’ll move on to grinding, foiling, tinning, and preparing the petals for assembling, soldering, cleaning, patinating, polishing, and final assembly and finishing touches.
All glass, materials, and hand tools are included for this project.
Prerequisite: Must be able to score and break glass successfully and have a general concept of grinding, foiling, and soldering.
Closed toe shoes, safety glasses, and a sense of humour are mandatory. You may bring your own safety glasses or borrow a pair of sanitized glasses from the Centre. If you have an old pair of nicely fitting leather or heat resistant gloves, they will be useful for soldering the delicate petals.
