3 Day Beginner II (Novice) Stained Glass

In this 3 part progressive beginner class you will receive 21 hours of instruction learning the finer details of completing a stained glass panel. This course is designed to bring your skill set to an intermediate level yet offer you the flexibility of creating your own piece.
Learn the complete steps beyond the basic beginner to a larger scale design. The art of pattern making, the use of foil shears, straight through to your build to scale design, patina, polish and frame.
Create your own personal panel any size to a maximum of 18”x18”, containing no more than 25-30pcs. Hand tools, equipment, and chemicals are included (see Note below).
On our first day we will start immediately into scaling and patterning. Therefore, please bring your intended design with you. This could be your actual size or a small rendition of what your finished project will be while keeping within the maximum size guidelines.
Note: Glass, foil, solder and frame for your project are not included but are available for purchase in class (depending on size $20 and up).
Prerequisite: GBArts Beginner Intensive Class OR be able to successfully score and break glass, grind, foil, and solder.
Safety AND Accessibility: Closed toe shoes, safety glasses, and a sense of humour are mandatory. You may bring your own safety glasses, or they are available for use from the Centre. If you have an old pair of nicely fitting leather or heat resistant gloves, they will be useful, but not essential. Must be grip and apply pressure with hands while standing up.
