BIBLIOARTS 2024

FRI MAY 17TH | 5pm to 8:30pm & SAT May 18th | 9am to 3PM

The Georgian Bay School of the Arts is excited to host our first annual BiblioArts Print & Book Fair!

“The Book Arts” describes a wide range of art forms including bookbinding, printmaking, letterpress printing, box-making, papermaking, paper decoration, broadsides, card-making, zines and journals, and so much more; it’s an exciting field and we’re happy to bring it all together for this event.

Saturday’s event features a Book Arts Marketplace including printmaking and book artists, specialty vendors of papers, materials, and tools for all your book and printmaking needs.

Workshops in many exciting techniques will run throughout the day. You can print a postcard on our antique letterpress! And lots more.

Friday evening’s ticketed event will feature an artist’s talk and presentation with eminent book artist George A. Walker, RCA. Walker is an award-winning wood engraver, book artist, teacher, author, and illustrator who has been creating artwork, books and publishing at his private press since 1984. For over twenty years Walker has exhibited his wood engravings and limited edition books internationally. Among many book projects Walker has illustrated two hand-printed books written by internationally-acclaimed author Neil Gaiman.

This is all taking place in the large creative studios of GB Arts, located on the main street in the heart of downtown Owen Sound. The Palette Cafe, located in the entrance to GB Arts, will be open from 9am-4pm.
